Hand Crafted In Peru

Torito de Pucará, Puno

A cultural piece found throughout the Ayacucho, Cuzco and Puno states of Peru, the “Toritos de Pucará”, are colorful clay-based figurines hand-painted with designs dating back centuries. Adoring roof tops, thresholds, and bookshelves these little Peruvian bulls are believed to be blessed by the Incan mountain god Apus bringing health, unity, abundance and protection to the home and family.

These Puneñan toritos are slightly larger than the Ayacuchano toritos and painted with designs and colors typical of the Puno state known for their phosphorescent or earthy colors and floral patterns. The toritos are hand-made pieces measuring 3" L x 1.375" W x 3" H. Slight design variations between each piece is expected.
