Intentions, regulations & guidelines
Intentions
This document takes the logic of nature as a basis, with the goal to support,
strengthen, protect and inspire ourselves and the rest of the Creation,
inside as well as outside our initiative.
If certain guidelines turn out to be not working,
then we will examine if they are harmonious enough or not,
or that other guidelines are disturbing:
Please understand well, that we don’t mean to be puritan,
ascetic, hermetic, a sect, or whatever!
We just want to remember and investigate World’s ancestors’ and Nature’s knowledge & wisdom,
to find, each of us, our favorite, PERSONAL ways, in each moment, to enjoy and to grow!
We make a difference between regulations, which are meant to protect Nature,
our ecovillage and its’ People…and guidelines,
which GLOBALLY show an image about how we intent to connect with our Nature.
All we know is, that Life lives (changes) so that nobody can know an only true recipe for all,
to feel well, and grow.
Main thought: a constant growing consciousness within ourselves,
and a concrete contribution to a World of paradise, for ourselves & everyone.
Regulations
Decision-making: we prefer to take a decision or make a choice that is satisfying for every villager. Therefore it is important to have attention for everyone’s thoughts and emotions,
also after the decision-making.
If we are not able to attain a decision that is satisfying for everyone,
then the "elders", the longest present villagers, will "cut the knot",
with their own interest always secondary to the interest of the whole.
If they are not able to agree together, then the initiator of Khomanta Kancha will "cut the knot",
also with his own interest secondary to the interest of the whole.
In case of difficult decision-making the say of individual villagers will count,
corresponding his/her dedication to / involvement with our initiative.
To simplify decision-making and make it as honest as possible,
every resident unit / family will have one representative,
who after agreement with his/her People (including children), speaks during the community meeting.
The interests of the immediate environment of the community,
and humankind as a whole, will of course also be taken into account.
Consultation at every New Moon, accompanied by a fraternization ritual.
Absence: when someone is absent for a longer period of time,
then the decision can be made (after consultation) that the person keeps contributing during that period,
by donating a small monthly sum to our association,
either with 5 hours of active assistance per week,
for example invested in promotion for Khomanta Kancha, networking, fund-raising, etc..
General costs are always shared by all.
During the time of absence, and only after thorough communication with the person involved,
it could be decided, to work on the person’s land, when needed/desired.
If the villager is absent during his/her harvest, then, also after consultation,
the harvest can be used by the rest of the villagers, or bartered for an extra service by the absentee,
or conserved for later use.
Absence during New Moon consultation will insurmountably go at cost of some communication.
But before a binding decision is taken, there will always be (after the consultation) an inquiry for the opinion of the absentee, per e-mail or telephone, whereby the absentee has got 1 week time, to react.
Other initiatives: initiatives within or around our ecovillage (in physical or any other form),
which are founded after consultation and/or in cooperation with us,
will always respect these guidelines as overruling their own guidelines.
Should there arise a dilemma with such an initiative,
then there will be a consultation with the inhabitants of our ecovillage,
in active presence of the persons responsible for the initiative.
Taken decisions by the villagers are always binding.
This is to respect and protect the initiative & the villagers.
Ownership: ownership of the personal two hectares is normally life long,
with the right of heredity by his/her partner or children,
with always the harmony of the initiative as the objective.
If someone wants to move OUT of the community, then the land will stay under ownership of our association, and the decision can be made by the community to make that land available for a new inhabitant.
This person can only become owner of the land after presentation to the ecovillage (see 'inflow').
An other option is to use the land as common ground for the good of the whole ecovillage.
All aspects with respect to the exchanges that come with this in natura or money,
will be subject of consultation within the community.
Support and donation: the always very welcome support and donation,
from outside as well as inside, can be rewarded by us by means of barter in natura or services,
by which on beforehand it is always clear what the amount will be.
There can never be any claimable payment in any form.
We work on basis of trust, humility, respect and a great heart.
Donation and support are not connected with obtaining property or say within our initiative in any way.
Inflow: during the inflow as a new inhabitant/neighbour/associate of our initiative are needed:
active, sincere and complete communication with the already present inhabitants;
the reading of our website, to obtain a good view of our initiative;
three months of active contact with the already present inhabitants, in any form;
the funded intention to inspire oneself and others; one month of active trial-inhabitation in our village;
payment of the bruto costs of two hectares of land; contribution to the general costs,
which benefit our whole initiative.
At the end of the trial-inhabitation the possible new inhabitant and the already present inhabitants,
will decide about possible constructive cohabitation and cooperation,
after which the person is or is not going to live in the village.
Too big difference of intentions: in the rare case that it might happen,
that it would not be possible for the inhabitants of our initiative to live together with a certain co-inhabitant/neighbour/associate, with which is meant,
that habitation/participation of that person brings in more destruction than construction,
for the initiative as a whole, by a too big difference of intentions with the rest,
then it could be decided, that we honourably need to say goodbye to that person, for the best of all involved.
In this case, if the person wishes, he/she will receive all reasonable,
possible and upright support from the other villagers,
to find a new (and with the person more harmonious) living-environment.
At a reasonable term, to this person would be returned the same amount as he/she paid,
to obtain his/her land.
Nature: actions with a big impact on nature, shall always be discussed with all villagers.
The cutting of trees (>30 cm), the cutting of an area (> 50 square meters),
the digging off of a terrain, the buying of mechanical/electric appliances (normally this will be avoided),
or making an electric connection, are a few examples.
At bigger projects all villagers will always be informed well in advance,
in order that consultation can be possible.
Our land: our land can not be used in any case for: agrarian monoculture; large-scale livestock-farms, artificial/chemical breeding, genetic technology; mining, hunting;
large-scale construction (>100 square meters per living-unit,
and/or more than two storeys or seven meters high, would be subject to discussion);
rental (subject to discussion); sales (idem); placing of cabinets, masts, lamps, machines, signs, wires, little buildings or whatever by companies: any other subharmonic exploitation, from inside as well as from outside.
Facilities: active members/neighbours can make use of the common infrastructure
(the garden, plus either the community-house or a well-accomodated base-camp), while preparing their own domain, in exchange for about 3 hours of their active assistance, in garden, house, or forest, per day.
Electricity: silently, emission-free, and aestheticly activated from natural sources.
Electricity is centralized on one spot in the village to prevent any discomfort because of electrosmog.
Wireless: all wireless technologies (except possible mobile internet), like wireless mouse,
keyboard or headphones, DECT (wireless fixed telephone), Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, are always absent.
Internet: there will be one spot in the village with satellite-internet.
Only connected when the connection is actively being used.
Waste: of course as much as possible biodegradable: everything,
also the (becoming odourless) output of the toilets, will be used as compost.
Non-degradable waste (which will be prevented as much as possible)
will be brought to the neighbouring village.
Non-biodegradable waste, came across in the neighbourhood or on the road,
will be taking along and treated like our own waste.
Burning of non-degradable waste is very polluting, unhealthy and bothersome, and this will not be practiced.
Noise: only when needed or constructive, and as much as possible by day,
always with respect for neighbours and nature.
Keeping animals: always well-treated and in small numbers.
Animal keeping brings many mosquitoes and in many cases also nuisance:
eating of sowing-seed, eating and scrambling of plants, noise, and hunting of,
and disturbance for neighbouring animals.
The keeping of animals will always be consulted with other villagers, also to find a balance together.
General goods: these goods will be respected because they are from everyone.
Breaking them will be communicated, repaired or replaced.
Changes/addition of/to these guidelines: desired changes in these guideluines
can be brought forward and discussed, and in case of agreement/consensus by the initiators of Khomanta Kancha, they can be deposited in these guidelines after the New Moon consultations.
Guidelines
Life: enjoyment, by living in harmony with all People and the rest of the Creation.
Creating: we believe in the power of pure creation... that what we REALLY want,
the deepest inside, becomes reality. It starts with beautiful ideas,
originating from the heart and shaped through light and playful thoughts.
Everything we need is given to us. We only have to activate our ideas and wishes by shaping them,
speaking them out, and living them with full clearness and awareness.
Confidence, frivolous connection and thankfulness open the door to realization.
Sexuality: creating life-energy (not meaning only in the form of a child),
to utilize for the highest goals (the joy of oneness, development of the higher bodies, and/or continuation).
Physical nutrition: eating like breathing (intuitive), mainly living, plant-based food.
We feed ourselves with that which we believe is giving to us as nutrition.
We believe in the power of living food (fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds),
planted/sown and/or collected by ourselves. We drink mainly fresh water,
which streams to us directly from the Andes, and fresh juices and herbal teas!
Health: an excellent physical and mental health.
Physical and mental health/well-being are indissoluble connected.
That is why we want to bring and keep both in super condition.
A good balance strengthens itself. We attain this through food, living water,
a healthy respiration, natural forms of physical exercise,
spiritual training and meditation, constructive use of language,
nice social contacts and broad fulfilment, and more.
Subtle nutrition: inspiration, exchange, celebration/rituality/folklore.
Thoughts and activities that give us enjoyment and fulfilment.
We celebrate life, for example through nice meetings with villagers and the rest of the local people.
Society: know yourself. Living in love and with attention for ourselves and each other.
Compassion, sincereness, authenticity. If we all can and dare to be who we really are,
then peace and joy will prevail in our society.
Love for our co-travellers starts with love for ourselves.
Love for ourselves starts with love and admiration for the whole Creation.
Oneness through acceptance of diversity (within as well as outside ourselves:
self-knowledge àself-acceptanceà acceptance of each otherà union of each others unique talents).
Inspiration, by actually living our intentions and keep them visible.
We have chosen to create our own Space of Love.
We would like to inspire our Human collegues by sharing our experiences and insights,
and always stay open to also learn from them.
Every Human is free to choose what he/she wants; we would only like to present a possibility,
by doing what we do, and show it in a neutral and humble way.
Communication: open, honest and constructive exchange. We listen and speak with respect.
We prefer to speak with positive inspiration, but we have of course enough room for expressing all of our emotions. We may have different opinions.
We will resolve heavy feelings by speaking together and/or by contemplation.
When we feel that a co-habitant falls in disharmony, we offer sincere support,
within our reasonable possibilities. Good neighbourship!
Outside of the community we will maintain social contacts and keep presenting and informing ourselves.
We will do this for instance by showing involvement with the local people,
and by giving information on our website.
Exchange: unselfishly contributing, within our possibilities.
We take into account everyone's boundaries and rely on the Law of Conservation of Energy:
"nothing gets lost"! ...it's even more enjoyable when it streams/flows!
On our way to improvement, in stead of exclusive competition!
Facilities: thankfulness is the key to abundance: everything we need is present.
We always make a choice for harmony with nature (i.a. by using only natural materials, when possible).
We only make use of the things that support and improve the happiness of ourselves,
our Human collegues and the rest of the Creation.
Visit: visitors are very welcome and will always be invited for exchange with us,
in any constructive and balanced form.
Trade: within our village we always try to barter.
Appreciation: real equality: it's the diversity of humans and animals and plants
that makes us equal because we all have our own life tasks. The union of the Rainbow colours!
We are free to value one thing above an other,
like we do for example with the natural above the artificial,
but we are responsible ourselves for what this splitting up does with us.
We endeavour to see everything in function of a higher goal,
regardless of whether or not we can perceive it directly.
All intentions and guidelines are formulated,
and shall be complied with at all times,
for the highest good of all & everyone within the great Creation,
by all participants of Khomanta Kancha, in this document represented by:
Andries Wijma Margot Mendoza Nancay Robert Koene
With an embrace from, for and within the allmighty mother Pachamama: the great, all-embracing Creation!
