How to get to our land.

                                          Picture

The black line, going up and left, from Cusco,
                                          ends in Quillabamba.
In Cusco, take a taxi to `terminal para Quillabamba,
en Santiago´, which costs 3,50 soles, at most.

Buy a bus ticket to Quillabamba
(normally 15 soles, +1 sol tax) to travel in one of the morning buses (6:30/7:30/8:30),
                                          with either `Ampay´ or `Selva Sur´,
which are the good and safe companies.
To buy a ticket on time,
it´s best to go for the first or the second bus:
if there are no tickets left for the bus you were going for, then just take the next one.

The trip to Quillabamba takes about 6 hours,
and is beautiful (camera)! During the trip,
you´ll pass a very high point,
for which it´s nice to have a sweater at hand,
                                          and some Coca.
After that, the bus goes all the way dooooown into the hotter regions.

Once you get to Quillabamba, take a motor-taxi (1 sol) to `Hostal Plaza de Armas´
(20 sol, incl. wireless internet) or `Hostal Alto Urubamba´ (16 sol).
From this point, to proceed towards our land, go to `Avenida Ricardo Palma,
paradero para Macamango y San Pedro´.
Collective taxis, and in the early morning a truck, will be parked there, with people waiting by them.

It takes about 40 minutes by collective taxi (take before 14:00), with prices varying from 4 to 10 soles, depending on the amount of passengers present. In principle, the cheapest is to go at 4:15 in the morning,
either by the neighbour´s truck or taxi.

There is a shop at this `station´, owned by the same neighbours as the truck,
which is also open between 4:00 and 4:45,
where you can buy basic dry foods and fresh bread.

A taxi should bring you as far up as possible:
if you have a good driver, he´ll bring you until the end of the road.
Otherwise, tell them to take you `hasta Prudencio´ you´d have to walk
about 10 minutes extra, to reach the end of the road by yourself.

Just follow the road till it ends, and start following the orange coloured ribbons,
to get to us! From the end of the road it´s a BEAUtiful,
but also quite heavy walk (you´d get used to it after a few times, definitely),
                                          of 1.5 - 2 hours.

First, after about 10 minutes, you´ll pass a river, later a small mud-brick house,
some later a BIG tree, then a smaller river,
then a big wooden house (from here it´s about 20 more minutes),
a fence with a door (just pass, and salute the neighbours), a small cabin.
There, just walk straight on, until you get into the forest again (keep following the marks).
After a few minutes, you´ll cross another small river, which is the border of our land!
You´ll be able to see our new house from the other side, on your right hand.

                                          Welcome!
